Colton Sparrow joined Pursuit of Excellence as the Assistant Coach for the Elite 15 team in September 2019. Colton was born and raised in Vernon British Columbia where he played his minor hockey up until joining the Okanagan Rockets major midget team at 15. Following 2 seasons with them he played 4 seasons for the Vernon Vipers in the BCHL going to 2 RBC Cup national championships. Receiving a scholarship to the university of Alaska Fairbanks he continued his career for 2 seasons there before joining the University of Regina Cougars in the U Sports association. After his collegiate career he signed a contract in the ECHL for the Wichita Thunder, a short time there plagued by injuries landed him overseas in Norkopping Sweden where he finished his professional Career.
On top of his playing career he obtained a bachelors degree in psychology where he focuses on the mental health of athletes and offers counselling services through the Traininghouse Vernon. After a very rewarding hockey career his main goal in life is to give back to the kids that are coming up behind him, just like all the support he received through the years.
